What is the Bismarck Historical Society?

Founded in 2005, the mission of the Bismarck Historical Society is to learn, preserve and promote the history of Bismarck, North Dakota.

    • North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum's outdoor Prairie Amphitheater

    The groundbreaking for the Military Gallery Expansion will take place at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum's outdoor Prairie Amphitheater.  The event is free and open to the general public.

    5:00pm - Seating area opens

    5:15pm - Music by the 188th Army Band

    5:30pm - Official program with speakers and groundbreaking

    You are encouraged to attend our partner-sponsored program featuring Phil Dixon, author and Negro Leagues historian from Kansas City.

    Program is free and open to the general public.
